The City of Airdrie is connecting residents to businesses that are open during the COVID-19 pandemic through an online portal called airdrie.thingsthatareopen.com.
Many Airdrie businesses have significantly adjusted their operations to remain open during the pandemic.
“As we strive to find creative solutions to support businesses, while we are diligently practicing social distancing, we have collaborated with the Airdrie Chamber to find airdrie.thingsthatareopen.com,” said the City’s Tourism Development Officer Shauna Quinn.
“This is an easy-to-search platform to meet the immediate needs of enabling our business community to communicate their current availability and safe practices during the COVID-19 response phase.”
Registration to the site is free to local businesses. It also allows for the opportunity to share revised hours of operations or any special offers businesses are providing the community.
“We all look forward to when we can start to shift into a recovery and resiliency mode, and share all re-openings with our community,” said Quinn.
More than 100 businesses have signed up to the site with more expected to join.
