Fall 2025

When you walk into All Things Pretty Market, you’re greeted with a smile and immediately feel welcome and intrigued as you look around and see all the unique treasures scattered throughout the store.

You will leave feeling inspired by the level of talent and creativity shown through handmade creations you might not find elsewhere. The new-to-Airdrie store showcases a variety of vendors local to Alberta. The shelves are stocked with all things pretty, from crystal-infused candles to magnets, coasters, home décor signs, mugs, greeting cards, soap, pottery, clothing, bath products, jewelry, hair accessories and more.

Samantha Anderson and Tessa Rancier co-own the business. They recently leased a storefront in CrossIron Mills, but decided to move the shop to Airdrie when their lease ended in 2024. The new store, located on 1st Avenue N.W., opened its doors in November 2024.

“A lot of people are surprised when they find out that this stuff is all locally made,” says Rancier. “The locals in Airdrie have been phenomenal and so supportive. People are excited to be able to support local.”

The All Things Pretty Market originated in Red Deer, where Anderson and Rancier were neighbouring vendors, selling home décor and bath and body products.

“Over the years, we got to know each other and just became part of the same little market family,” says Anderson. “When the market [owners] decided to sell, we collaborated and decided to buy it together.”

The two entrepreneurs purchased the market in 2019, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic. When they weren’t able to host in-person events, they decided to open in CrossIron Mills and later opened a second store in West Edmonton Mall. The Airdrie and West Ed locations keep them busy, but they are hoping to eventually open a third store.

“We’re always dreaming,” says Anderson. “Our key values are to promote small businesses and encourage people to shop local. Anytime that we can support a family to really fulfil their dream and get their product out there — that is definitely one of our main goals.”

“We always want to keep the store fresh and promote new businesses,” says Rancier. “This is literally putting food on people’s tables. It’s paying for sports and groceries and mortgages and putting money back into the community. I think wherever you can do that, it’s a win-win.”
