Time Travellers Car Club Celebrates Milestone Show

Story by Stacie Gaetz

Summer 2026

For 25 years, automobile enthusiasts and community members have gathered in Airdrie for one of the city’s most anticipated annual traditions. The Doin’ it on the Grass car show returns to Nose Creek Park on August 8 from 10 am to 4 pm, marking a silver anniversary for the charity event.

Organized by the Time Travellers Car Club, the event has called Nose Creek Regional Park home for its entire quarter-century run. Kaleigh Clow, president and car show chairman, says over the past two-and-a-half decades, the show has grown into one of Airdrie’s largest and most popular events.

“Attendees and vendors frequently cite it as one of the top three car shows in Alberta,” she says.

“The event draws an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 foot-traffic spectators throughout the day, bringing in people from across Canada.”

On average, the show displays around 380 vehicles, with total park capacity accommodating up to 500 cars. The family-friendly event is completely free to the public and features a live band, along with numerous local vendors.

In addition to celebrating automotive history, Doin’ it on the Grass serves as a charity fundraiser. Forty percent of all funds raised during the show are donated to four local organizations. Two of these beneficiaries remain constant: the Airdrie Food Bank and Iron Horse Park, which provides its facilities for the club’s monthly meetings.

The remaining two charities are selected annually through a club nomination and voting process. For this year’s show, members selected BGC and Volunteer Airdrie as the recipient partners. Some of the supported organizations will also have booths on-site to share information about their work in the community. Additionally, staff from the Airdrie Food Bank will be situated at the park entrance to collect non-perishable food donations.

Clow says the remaining 60 percent of proceeds supports operating costs for future car shows, with a portion directed into a club savings account designated for a potential future clubhouse to expand community initiatives.

“Each member brings amazing knowledge and experience to each show,” she adds.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we hope everyone enjoys the show and gets to see all the cars. We hope you get to meet new people and see some amazing vehicles.”
