The Kalix Legacy Foundation Charity Classic

Spring 2023

The inaugural Kalix Legacy Foundation Charity Classic, which will include a golf tournament, poker tournament, a pro/am charity hockey game, a two-day silent auction and a banquet takes place on June 9 and 10.

The Golf Charity Classic will be held on June 9, starting at 9 a.m. on the well-guarded greens of Apple Creek Golf Course.  The Poker Charity Classic will be held at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino, beginning at 5 p.m., also on June 9. A Charity Hockey Classic will be played at Airdrie’s Ron Ebbesen Twin Arena on June 10 at 10:30 a.m. You can purchase tickets to play with some NHL alumni, and Kalix’s father, John, will also be lacing them up.

The entire Charity Classic will wrap up with a banquet at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino June 10 at 6:30 p.m.

The Kalix Legacy Foundation was created by the family of Kalix Langeneau by turning the likeable 19-year-old’s final youth coaching paycheque from Explosive Edge into the start of The Kalix Legacy Foundation.
The Foundation honours Kalix’s dream of helping financially challenged families cover the cost of program and training fees, as well as equipment costs, and help for kids who have lost a parent or sibling. The Foundation is able to cover anywhere from 50 to 100 per cent of the fees and equipment costs, depending on the program or training, the applicant’s financial situation, and funds currently available.
