Nose Creek Players (NCP), originally known as Airdrie Little Theatre up until its rebranding in 2011, is celebrating 40 years as the city’s premier not-for-profit community theatre group.
Since the beginning, NCP has always been a strong advocate for providing individuals a creative outlet through theatre and theatre expression, and this year is no different. This year is about celebrating how far the company has come; from performing in fields and community centres, to city events and the big stage.
For our 2025/26 season, we will be focusing on NCP’s past, present and future. This holiday season, like many others, will have our youth audiences in mind.
This time, however, we’ll be performing at Bert Church Live Theatre as part of its presented series! All Roads Lead to the Station: An Airdrie Christmas Story, written by me, follows a young boy, his sister and an up-and-coming town you may have heard of before! Although the story itself is fictional, its inspiration and heart came from Airdrie’s early residents. This keeps with the NCP brand of promoting original work within the community.
In the new year, we will be pleased to present A Night of One Acts. The plays may have similar titles, but they couldn’t be any more different! He Said, She Said, written by Neil Fleming and Glenda Stirling, and He Thought, She Thought, written by Garry Buzzard, represent how NCP started out performing only one-act plays.
NCP is also no stranger to murder mysteries and next spring we are taking it to the next level! Murdered to Death by Peter Gordon is the first in the Inspector Pratt trilogy of the Agatha Christie “whodunnit” genre. Full of humour, mystery and over-the-top characters, this palm-smacking comedy is the perfect way to represent NCP’s growth over these four decades.
