The Airdrie Community Choir is a non-auditioned choir, comprised of members from Airdrie and the surrounding communities. We put on two main concerts each year and also perform at community events such the Festival of Lights.
The Airdrie Community Choir seeks to inspire a sense of community through music within the city of Airdrie and the surrounding area. The Choir is excited to begin its 41st season with in-person rehearsals starting in September and going to May.
We are a collective of about 50 members ages ranging from 24 to 85 with all levels of musical knowledge (from not being able to read music to having a degree in music.) The Airdrie Community Choir takes pride in our efforts to create a family/community atmosphere. Making a space where anyone can come and benefit from the healthful joys that music can bring.
We host an annual Christmas season concert that supports the Airdrie 1st Holiday Hamper program, we support the Annual Airdrie Festival of Lights Tree Lighting ceremony as well as bring some light and joy to various retirement facilities in the area with our “Lodge Crawl” visits.
One of our biggest goals is to continue to share the health benefits that music can bring – The arts tend to be overlooked when it comes to caring for mental health and yet can have such a lasting benefit. Whether you are a performing member of our choir or an attendee at one of our performances or just happen to catch us on your favorite streaming platform the effects that music has on our mental well-being is worth the time and work that goes into every song we sing. With members of varying ages and income we work hard to keep our registration fees and ticket costs low while ensuring that we continue to support our community.
We would love the chance to be able to use marketing/advertising funds to be able to become a more integral part of our community.
