1. Share one specific personal or professional accomplishment that you believe qualifies you to represent Airdrie residents on Airdrie City Council.

I am a fourth-generation Airdrie resident, and with my children now raising their own families here, that makes us six generations strong in this community. My great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents all contributed to Airdrie’s growth, and I’m proud to continue that legacy.

As a small business owner for over 20 years, I’m very comfortable with accounting, budgeting, and financial management. I’ve also been a Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner for more than 25 years, which has given me a deep respect for policies, procedures, and fiscal responsibility.

Last year, I completed my Realtor’s exam, but decided to park my licence to focus fully on my campaign and future work on council, if elected.

2. What are your top three priorities and why?

Transparency & Accountability

  • Easier access for residents to see how council members vote — residents deserve to know if their representatives reflect their values.
  • Require criminal record/vulnerable sector check for all council members, given their work in the public and around children, seniors, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Set aside time at every council meeting for residents to voice concerns without needing to pre-submit questions.
  • Council is elected by Airdrie’s residents — that accountability must remain at the core of every decision.
  • Adjust council meeting times to later afternoon to early evenings so more working residents can attend and participate.
  • A ward system will provide more accountability. Residents will know who to contact if they have questions or concerns. This in turn will provide greater community engagement and communications.

Fiscal Responsibility

  • No more careless spending of taxpayers’ dollars— every dollar must be used wisely and transparently.
  • Tighten budgets and focus on essential needs, not unnecessary extras.
  • Plan and save for future critical infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and emergency services.
  • Conduct a deep dive into Airdrie’s current financial state to identify waste and build better long-term planning.
  • Ensure financial sustainability so Airdrie can meet the needs of a growing community responsibly, especially as we prepare for the 2026 budget.

Future Planning & Growth Management

  • Plan responsibly for Airdrie’s continued growth with a strong focus on sustainability and smart infrastructure investment.
  • Develop more cost-effective recreation centres that meet community needs without overburdening taxpayers.
  • Improve transit routes and schedules to make public transportation more reliable, efficient, and accessible for residents.
  • Strengthen relationships with the provincial government to ensure Airdrie receives fair access to education (schools) and health care (urgent care and hospital services).
  • Keep future planning transparent and data-driven, ensuring decisions are based on long-term community benefit, not short-term politics.
