Shala Heger is passionate about lifting others up.
Born and raised in Airdrie, Heger spent much of her youth working for her father’s local glass shop, Airdrie Windshield & Glass, which inspired and encouraged her to start her own business, The Little Blind Co, and become a cheerleader for local businesses.
“I will always choose to visit or purchase from a local business and keep my dollars within the community, on top of sharing with family and friends as much as possible. There is so much this city has to offer”, says Heger.
Mikala McCormack nominated Heger after Heger visited her in the hospital after her baby was born. Heger gifted her a charcuterie box from local business Johnny n Glo and outfits from small boutiques for her newborn baby.
“Shala has the biggest heart of anyone I I know,” says McCormack. “She supports and lifts up other small businesses at every opportunity… I would love to see her recognized as an amazing Airdrie woman because she is a pillar in the Airdrie community.”
