On May 29, 2022, the Alberta Chambers of Commerce recognized one Alberta Chamber Executive during their 84th AGM, whose contributions to the Alberta Chamber Executives committee has been outstanding, as demonstrated by their participation level at meetings and their leadership shown throughout the previous year. Fellow peers nominate and vote for the winner.
Marilyne Aalhus began her role as Executive Director 3 ½ years ago and continues to lead and grow the chamber staff and membership, provide valuable customer service, guidance, support, and advocacy to Airdrie’s business community. We were able to sustain most of our members, gain several new ones, and support them through extremely challenging times. Marilyne has connected with almost all our members in person, via personal phone calls and countless Zoom meetings.
“The Airdrie Chamber has known for some time that our Executive Director is someone special. Her compliment of skills and determination has transformed our organization, allowing us to reach new heights through some very challenging times. Marilyne continues to be the driving force of our chamber, working to advocate on behalf of members, to create new commerce opportunities in our community and to connect businesses within our region. Our board is thrilled that she has been recognized by her peers across the province as the Alberta Chamber’s Executive Director of the Year!” says Chris McNicol, Board President.
The Airdrie Chamber of Commerce was awarded the 2021 airdrielife Amazing Workplace Award in April of this year and the 2020 Alberta Chamber of the Year Award in the mid-size chamber category in July of 2021.
Congratulations to Marilyne on this achievement.
