Aspiring photographer Kayla Schellenberg, 15, spent five weeks this summer capturing images on her camera for airdrielife.

“I really liked this assignment due to the energy Airdrie has during summer. You can really feel the excitement in the community and I’m glad I could showcase that in my photos. I really wanted to put the spotlight on things that mostly go unnoticed in our city. There are small details that pull the community together that no one really notices. Whether that be the wildlife we have, the peacefulness, or the talented people throughout the community.”
