Adopt a Book Returns to Airdrie Public Library

Story by Josie Randall

Fall 2023

Adopt a Book is set to return to the Airdrie Public Library (APL) from November 27th to December 23rd.

The event invites book enthusiasts to contribute to the library’s ever-growing collection while allowing them to etch their name into the pages of literary history.

Individuals simply purchase a book for the library from their collection of available titles and in return place their name or a special dedication in the chosen book for the enjoyment of generations to come.

The adopter then earns the privilege of being the first to sign out their adopted book.

A range of titles are available to choose from like children’s books, picture books, junior fiction, adult fiction and non-fiction. You can visit the library in-person or peruse the collection online.

The APL is a non-profit society who relies on fundraisers in order to provide a variety of free programming.

In 2021, the Adopt a Book fundraiser raised more than $4,400 for the APL.

More information on this fundraiser will be available on airdriepubliclibrary.ca.
