Build your dream home in Cooper’s Crossing

Story by Patricia Merrick

Summer 2026

As development of Cooper’s Crossing nears completion, opportunities to build your dream home in the highly recommended, southwest-Airdrie community are limited.

Harder Homes is building its last few lots in Cooper’s Crossing and those interested are encouraged to jump on the opportunity to custom build while the option is still available.

“Only a handful of lots remain and we expect them to be fully sold out in 2026,” says Simona Harder, vice-president and chief financial officer. “We are building a variety of home types, including duplexes, laned homes, move-up homes and estate homes.”

These homes feature energy-efficient windows, high-end finishes and functional floor plans. They are priced starting in the low-$600,000 range.

Harder says many of the floor plans offer direct access to the basement from the exterior, which serves well for multi-generational living or generating rental income.

“Our homes appeal to a wide range of buyers at various stages of life,” says Harder. “For example, our size-efficient laned homes are equally sought after by younger families and mature empty nesters, as both groups often find they do not require a significant amount of space.”

Harder Homes has been building beautiful, functional homes in Airdrie for nearly 20 years. The family-operated business takes pride in living local and supporting local businesses, events and charities.

Harder Homes also specializes in building custom acreages in and around the Airdrie and Calgary areas.

“Our continued focus will always be to build beautiful custom homes for the families that live in them,” says Harder. “Our building timeline is one year, which allows up to three months for the design stage.”

Harder Homes offers a personal, fully customizable home-building experience, allowing buyers peace of mind throughout the process of making their dream home a reality, she says.

Cooper’s Crossing has been voted Airdrie’s best community for more than ten consecutive years. It features character-rich homes and is a popular destination for Airdrie families to view seasonal decorations and Christmas lights during the holidays.

It’s also home to Cooper’s Town Promenade, which features local businesses, shopping and amenities.

“Cooper’s Crossing is a community where families can live, play and grow through every stage of life,” says Harder. “From schools, to shopping and parks to ponds, this thoughtfully planned community is well known for its beautiful streetscapes, pride of ownership and strong sense of community, where homeowners tend to stay long term.”
