The annual Airdrie Mayor’s Night of the Arts takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Bert Church LIVE Theatre.
Presented by the Airdrie Arts & Culture Council (AACC), this premier gala celebrates the artists, educators, patrons and emerging talents who shape Airdrie’s creative fabric.
It will be an inspiring evening of captivating live performance, awards recognition and meaningful connection through the arts, alongside a special showcase highlighting one of Airdrie’s many vibrant cultural communities (to be announced).
Mayor Heather Spearman is excited about her first year hosting the awards.

Tyler Cavanaugh – Open Mic host, active arts volunteer

From coordinating logistics for the Airdrie Mayor’s Night of the Arts, Windwood Music Festival, and airdrieFEST, to organizing Open Mic nights and youth theatre camps with Nose Creek Players, Peggy brings care, organization, and heart to every project. Robert Rodgers – Airdrie Rotary Festival of the Performing Arts volunteer
As President of the Airdrie Performing Arts Society and a founding volunteer of the Airdrie Rotary Festival of the Performing Arts, Robert Rodgers has dedicated over a decade to nurturing the next generation of performers. His leadership has strengthened arts education and visibility across the city, expanding opportunities for musicians, actors, and dancers to learn and showcase their talents. Robert’s mentorship of volunteers and board members reflects his belief in collaboration and community. Through his steady vision and advocacy, he continues to shape a legacy of creativity, accessibility, and excellence in Airdrie’s performing arts community.
Mandi Fusaro – Community theatre leader, volunteer
For more than eight years, Mandi Fusaro has been a driving force behind Airdrie’s community theatre ecosystem. As a long-standing board member with Nose Creek Players and a Governor with Calgary ACTS, she contributes to strategic planning, programming, youth engagement, and regional advocacy. Her volunteerism spans backstage support, production logistics, grant writing, marketing, and event coordination—including the CAT Awards and local showcases. A passionate mentor, Mandi nurtures young performers and cultivates accessible spaces for families to participate in the arts. Nose Creek Players
For more than 40 years, Nose Creek Players has been a cornerstone of Airdrie’s arts landscape—cultivating creativity, confidence, and connection through community theatre. Under the leadership of President Robin McKittrick, the volunteer-run group provides a brave, inclusive space where residents of all ages explore performance, storytelling, and collaboration. From original holiday productions to youth camps and their Kevin Goodyear Scholarship, NCP’s commitment to mentorship ensures the next generation of artists is supported and inspired. Their ongoing advocacy for cultural spaces—including work with Bert Church Theatre and local planning initiatives—continues to elevate the role of arts in civic life.
Airdrie Community Choir
For more than four decades, Airdrie Community Choir has united singers from across Airdrie and surrounding areas in a non-auditioned, community-driven ensemble. The Choir delivers two main concerts annually — ranging from classical works to contemporary hits — giving voices of all ages and backgrounds a shared platform. Amid the pandemic, the group embraced resilience by launching a virtual choir initiative, welcoming members from across Alberta and beyond. Under the artistic direction of Justin Macosky, their repertoire spans Vivaldi and Mozart, to the Beatles and kd lang, often including French and Latin pieces. The Choir’s commitment to community, diversity, and artistic collaboration makes it a vital thread in Airdrie’s cultural fabric.

Shawn Kraft, founder of Kraft & Co. Law believes the arts are the heartbeat of a thriving community. Through his firm, Shawn champions local creativity by sponsoring art shows, offering gallery space for emerging artists, and mentoring community-minded professionals. His leadership ensures the arts remain visible, valued, and accessible in Airdrie. A familiar face on Airdrie’s arts scene, Andy LePage’s company, Jazzed Up Events embodies the spirit of community celebration. Circle Connections for Reconciliation
The Circle Connections for Reconciliation Society is a volunteer-driven organization devoted to building bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities through the arts. By hosting public cultural events, supporting Indigenous performers and creators, and fostering education through art, the Circle brings truth, understanding, and unity to Airdrie. Luke Borges – Singer
Brazil-born singer-songwriter Luke Borges has brought his soulful energy and looping artistry to Airdrie’s music scene. A regular performer at local venues, open mics, and community events—including Airdrie CultureFest and the Airdrie Food Bank Gala—Luke uses music to connect people across cultures. His duo, Fable & Fire, co-founded with fellow Airdrie artist Stacey Fedigan, adds harmony and storytelling to his heartfelt performances. Beyond music, Kevin contributes to independent film projects and inspires students to pursue artistic careers through school talks and mentorship. Tammy Harris – Visual artist
Tammy Harris transforms traditional pet portraiture into bold, emotionally resonant works of art. Known for her vibrant, high-luminosity color palettes and unique remembrance pieces that incorporate ashes, fur, and feathers, she blends innovation with deep compassion. Her art connects families to cherished memories while expanding Airdrie’s creative landscape through initiatives like the city’s inaugural Airdrie Art Walk. Justine Madge – Costume designer
A creative force behind Nose Creek Players’ theatrical productions, Justine Madge brings storytelling to life through costume design. Her imaginative work on shows like Alice in Wonderland, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, and The Epic Quest of the Damsels in Distress showcases a rare blend of artistry and problem-solving—turning yoga mats, pop cans, and bedsheets into expressive stage magic. Stark Sky: Stacey Fedigan and Mark Ferguson – Acoustic

For more than two decades, entertainer and producer Andy LePage has been a vibrant force in Airdrie’s cultural life. Through Jazzed Up Events, he has brought music trivia, karaoke, bingo, and school dances to audiences of all ages—earning multiple Community Votes awards for his engaging, community-driven performances. Andy’s contributions extend far beyond the stage: he supports local theatre through sound design and volunteer work with Nose Creek Players, uplifts charities and fundraisers, and helps create welcoming spaces for connection. Sydonne Warren – Visual artist, muralist
A multidisciplinary visual artist and muralist, Sydonne Warren is transforming public spaces through vibrant artworks that celebrate underrepresented communities. Her leadership as a Public Art Project Lead for the City of Calgary has shaped landmark projects and expanded representation in contemporary Canadian art. Sydonne’s community impact includes launching Calgary’s first mural camp, leading live painting activations, mentoring emerging artists, and offering accessible creative workshops. In Airdrie, she has contributed to public art planning, led Paint and Sip Portrait Workshops, and supported Inspire Gallery programming. Keith Gorham – Mosaic artist

Award-winning musician Eden Taylor has rapidly become one of Airdrie’s most accomplished emerging artists performing hundreds of shows across Canada and the U.S., from intimate listening rooms to the Calgary Stampede and the Bluebird Café. With multiple Global Country Awards and a YYC Music Award nomination, Eden is equally committed to community impact, co-organizing Airdrie Acoustics and teaching young vocalists and pianists who now shine at festivals and provincials. Brandon Lorenzo – Singer, musician
Award-winning country artist Brandon Lorenzo brings heart, storytelling, and community spirit to every performance. With accolades across Canada and the U.S.—including four Grand Ole Opry awards—Brandon’s music bridges authenticity and connection. His songs have echoed through NHL arenas and local fundraisers alike, from Remembrance Day ceremonies to school charity events. Tania Lemo Malpuria and Vishal Malpuria – Choreographers, directors
With more than 30 years of combined experience in Bollywood and multicultural performance, Tania and Vishal Malpuria have transformed Airdrie’s performing arts landscape through SPARQ Productions. Their dynamic programs blend Indian classical, fusion, and modern dance, inspiring students to connect movement with meaning. Through mentorship, inclusivity, and stage opportunities—from Diwali Dhamaka to Incredible India Fest—they’ve empowered artists of all ages to express themselves with confidence and cultural pride. Mackenzie Cox – Art instructor

Corbie Dorner – Music, band director
Now in his tenth year leading the Bert Church High School Band Program, Corbie Dorner has built one of Airdrie’s most inspiring hubs for music education. His student-centered approach blends performance, composition, and collaboration—helping young musicians find their voice both on and off the stage. Under his guidance, the program has flourished, earning national recognition and partnerships with groups like the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Alicia Woynarski – Voice instructor
An accomplished opera singer and educator, Alicia Woynarski has spent over 16 years guiding vocalists toward excellence. Through Alicia’s Voice Studio, she teaches classical and contemporary singing with a focus on storytelling, technical mastery, and emotional expression. Many of her students have advanced to prestigious programs and won top placements at the Airdrie Rotary Festival of Performing Arts and provincials. Alicia’s mentorship fosters artistry and confidence while enriching Airdrie’s cultural life through concerts, community performances, and her continued leadership in local music education.
Christine Trac – Music, band director
A passionate advocate for accessible, student-led learning, Christine Trac redefines music education in Airdrie. As the creator of the Cavalier Music Academy at W.H. Croxford High School, she provides students with individualized pathways to explore music beyond traditional band or choir formats. Christine’s mentorship nurtures creativity, leadership, and confidence, while her involvement with the Airdrie Performing Arts Society and Rocky View Schools Music Cohort strengthens the region’s arts education network. Her innovative approach continues to empower young musicians and expand access to inclusive, high-quality music learning experiences.
Shawnee Hoffman – Art instructor
At Artsy Fartsy Art Studio, Shawnee Hoffman turns artistic exploration into community connection. Her hands-on, inclusive approach invites learners of all ages to grow creatively at their own pace. By linking art to personal experience, Shawnee helps students find authentic expression in their work while fostering self-confidence and reflection. Beyond her studio, she leads public art collaborations and charity projects with organizations like Iron Horse Park, the Airdrie Food Bank, and Meals on Wheels, expanding art’s reach and impact throughout Airdrie.
Mark Ferguson – Music instructor
For nearly a decade, Mark Ferguson has helped shape the next generation of Airdrie musicians through his work at Airdrie Music Lessons. Known for his thoughtful, inquiry-based teaching style, Mark encourages students to look beyond theory and develop lifelong curiosity about music. His lessons foster self-sufficiency and critical thinking, equipping learners with the skills to explore any style independently. Dedicated to making music education engaging, practical, and joyful, Mark continues to inspire students to pursue their creativity with confidence and curiosity.

Youth Artist Award: Celebrates a young artist (18 or under) in Airdrie who shows exceptional talent, dedication, and promise to develop and grow both within their discipline, and impact to AIrdrie’s arts and culture community.
Keela Dumont – Dancer, choreographer
A versatile dancer and emerging choreographer, Keela Dumont blends strong technical training with a passion for storytelling through movement. Trained across multiple styles and consistently earning high marks on her dance exams, she develops original lyrical and tap choreography—including works created for charity performances benefiting local causes. Keela’s dedication shines through rigorous weekly training, competitions, conventions, and her acceptance into a teacher apprenticeship program. She regularly performs at community events such as the Airdrie Business Gala, AirdrieFest, and the Festival of Lights. With aspirations to teach inclusive dance programs, Keela continues to shape her community through artistry, compassion, and mentorship.
Julia Zandvliet – Musical theatre performer
Musical theatre performer Julia Zandvliet is recognized for her expressive storytelling, vocal excellence, and creative risk-taking onstage. A first-place winner at the Alberta Music Festival Association for her performance of Astonishing from Little Women, Julia’s disciplined technique and emotional depth redefine familiar roles with fresh perspective. She has appeared in acclaimed productions including Chicago, Heathers, and Grease, and contributes to innovative projects through the Croxford Academy of Performing Arts. Beyond performance, Julia volunteers as an usher, supports community concerts, and donates performance proceeds to youth arts programs. Leah Chan – Vocalist, dancer, actor
Leah Chan is a triple-threat performer whose talent has brought national recognition to Airdrie’s arts community. From Storybook Theatre’s Chicago and Pippin to earning provincial and national vocal awards, Leah has become a celebrated young artist in classical voice and musical theatre. Her dedication extends beyond performance—mentoring younger performers and championing cultural representation in the arts. As a Gold Medal recipient from the Royal Conservatory of Music, she continues to uplift and inspire audiences through her artistry, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
Owen Casavant – Pianist, composer, photographer
Musician and multimedia artist Owen Casavant embodies creativity acrossdisciplines—from classical piano and theory to photography and film. A long-time participant in the Airdrie Rotary Festival of Performing Arts, Owen shares his passion for music as a lead instructor at Musicworks Canada, mentoring over 20 students. His dedication to composition, community performance, and arts education enriches Airdrie’s creative ecosystem. Whether performing, teaching, or showcasing his photography through OC Photography, Owen inspires through curiosity, collaboration, and his commitment to shaping the next generation of Airdrie artist.
Gabriel Stone – Dancer, choreographer
Gabriel Stone exemplifies excellence, creativity, and leadership in dance. Training intensively at Ambition Performing Arts, Gabriel balances rigorous daily practice with choreography and teaching, developing his own contemporary works for competition and mentoring younger dancers. His performances combine precision and emotion, reflecting his commitment to continuous growth and artistic expression. Beyond the studio, Gabriel contributes to Airdrie’s arts community through outreach at events like AirdrieFest and youth day camps, where he shares the joy of movement and creativity with others. Amy Tomlinson – Actor, performer

Through Ambition Performing Arts and her high school musical theatre program, Amy has appeared in numerous productions and regional festivals, captivating audiences with her ability to bring stories to life. Her passion for theatre inspires others to see the transformative power of storytelling in Airdrie’s growing performing arts community.
Hayley Isabel – Singer, musician
A rising voice in Airdrie’s country music scene, Hayley Isabel blends soulful storytelling with powerhouse vocals and stage presence. Performing over 50 shows a year—including at Country Thunder and local festivals—Hayley inspires through her dedication to songwriting and community connection. Mentored by Canadian country artists Kyle McKearney and Tamara Beatty, she’s recording her debut EP while continuing to represent Airdrie proudly at every stage she steps on. Her artistry and drive embody the spirit of a new generation of musicians shaping Alberta’s sound and cultural identity.
Victor Matthews – Visual artist, animator
Victor Matthews is an experimental visual artist and animator whose work transforms everyday moments into vivid reflections of life. A student at the Alberta University of the Arts, Victor creates bold, color-saturated paintings and intricate short films—one featuring over 2,000 hand-drawn frames. His work has been showcased in major exhibitions, including A Breath Beyond at Airdrie’s Inspire Library, and his innovative mixed-media projects continue to push creative boundaries. Through animation, painting, and public art, Victor highlights the beauty in the ordinary and celebrates the artistry rooted in Airdrie’s next generation.
Cole Saelhor – Musician, composer
A skilled multi-instrumentalist and composer, Cole Saelhof brings passion and precision to Airdrie’s music scene. Miguel Cubillos – Musician, composer
A gifted young oboist and composer, Miguel Cubillos channels his lifelong passion for music into every note he plays. As a member of the Mount Royal Conservatory Academy Associate Program, Miguel trains with world-class musicians, performs in chamber ensembles, and hones his craft through frequent recitals and masterclasses. Beyond the stage, he shares his love of music with classmates—inviting peers to join impromptu jam sessions during school breaks and building community through sound. Guided by heart, faith, and discipline, Miguel’s talent and generosity of spirit continue to enrich Airdrie’s vibrant musicallandscape.
Ayla Rayne – Actor, singer, musician
Ayla Rayne bridges theatre and music with a passion that lights up every stage she steps on. A standout performer with Storybook Theatre and lead singer of the Airdrie-based rock band Concrete Countdown, Ayla channels authenticity and charisma into every performance. Whether portraying complex musical theatre roles or leading local benefit concerts for causes like the Airdrie Food Bank and Health Foundation, her artistry amplifies community spirit. With over a decade of training and a deep sense of purpose, Ayla is redefining youth performance in Airdrie through empathy, energy, and excellence.
Anna Yakovleva – Dancer, choreographer
Anna Yakovleva is an emerging choreographer and performer whose creativity shines through movement and mentorship. Known for her expressive lyrical and contemporary work, Anna fuses technical skill with storytelling and emotion. Beyond competition, she contributes to Airdrie’s dance community by choreographing for younger dancers and co-leading creative initiatives, including APA Day Camps during last fall’s teacher strike. Her passion for connection and inclusive creativity reflects her belief that dance can bring people together and inspire confidence across generations.

Thomas Vicei – Actor, musician
A rising young performer, Thomas Vicei brings curiosity, creativity, and genuine heart to every artistic space he enters. From his early beginnings in Nose Creek Players’ summer camps to roles in Matty the Elf, The Secret Santa, and the upcoming All Roads Lead to the Station, Thomas approaches each character with depth, energy, and emotional authenticity. His artistic range extends beyond theatre—he is an award-winning pianist through the Airdrie Rotary Festival of Performing Arts and an active percussionist in his school band. With his commitment to growth, collaborative spirit, and passion for storytelling, Thomas is quickly emerging as a dynamic young voice in Airdrie’s arts community.

A multifaceted performer, Ayla Rayne has built an impressive portfolio across theatre, music, and community engagement. With leading roles in productions at Storybook Theatre, Renert Theatre, Calgary Young People’s Theatre, and more, she brings emotional depth, charisma, and originality to every character she portrays. As the lead singer of Concrete Countdown, Ayla performs at major community events—including the Airdrie Food Bank Fundraiser, Airdrie Festival of Lights, and Airdrie Health Foundation Gala—blending 11 years of vocal training with her natural stage presence. Her volunteerism, mentorship, and international artistic influences make her a standout emerging artist with a powerful creative voice and a bright future.
Victor Matthews – Visual artist, animator
An experimental artist and animator, Victor Matthews is redefining youth creativity through bold visual storytelling and innovative mixed-media practices. Working across painting, printmaking, performance, and hybrid animation, Victor explores alternative techniques—from hand-painted frames to linocut-based motion work. His art has appeared in exhibitions such as Inspire’s A Breath Beyond, the Calgary Stampede, AUArts Gallery Crawl, and the upcoming President’s Student Exhibition. As the curator of Critter Compound, he created an open-call show that invited
community participation and audience interaction. With his drive to explore new mediums and his rapidly expanding artistic impact, Victor represents the inventive spirit of Airdrie’s next generation.
