Performing as Duo Perdendosi, violinist Maitreyi Muralidharan and pianist Tong Wang raise the curtain on the 2023 Windwood Festival with a new, thrilling musical storytelling concert. The Duo will take you along an original fairy tale from the enchanted forests of the Czech Republic and the mystical Yangzi River of the East China Sea through to bewildering drama inside “Howl’s Moving Castle”. Finally, with your help to sound the fairy godmother’s magical triangle, we come back and around again, home to Windwood, where Fauré’s luscious Violin Sonata sweeps the fantastical memories into the breeze of the open air.

Featuring works by Beethoven, Janáček, Wong, Wijeratne, Kats-Chernin, Hisaishi, Chu, and Fauré.

The Windwood Music Festival aims to provide a space for artists to explore and implement creative projects that help bridge the gap between communities and classical and contemporary music. We strive to bring music to public spaces in ways that interact and coexist with these spaces and the people who occupy them, thus connecting the threads that build a sense of togetherness among all the elements within a community.
