“Muffins for Granny” presented by Circle Connections for Reconciliation

September 29 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

At the Circle Connections for Reconciliation Society, we believe that the Truth needs to be heard before Reconciliation can happen in a good way. A Truth that honors Survivors, their families and communities, and those who never made it home from residential school.

This is even more important as we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
To that end, we invite Airdrie and area community members to join us at Bert Church Theatre on Sunday, September 29 for a powerful film screening of “Muffins for Granny,” directed by Nadia McLaren, an award-winning filmmaker whose work honors her grandmother and explores the legacy of Indian Residential Schools.
Following the film, Nadia will lead a workshop that begins with a Medicine Wheel teaching, guiding us through meaningful discussions on the community’s role in the work of Reconciliation.
Admission is FREE for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples however you do need to register. Tickets for non-Indigenous people are $10 for adults (18+) and $5 for Youth (13-17) and includes fees and gst.
Parents and caregivers’ discretion is advised due to sensitive content.
Tickets can be purchased starting on Monday, September 16 at 10 a.m. through Bert Church LIVE Theatre at https://tickets.airdrie.ca/Thea…/1/tmEvent/tmEvent519.html.

Funding for this event has been provided by The City of Airdrie.
