Alberta Day 2023

Let’s celebrate the anniversary of our province’s unique spirit, culture, and heritage! In recognition of Alberta becoming a province on Sept. 1, 1905, Alberta Day will host an exciting list of events.
Culture and heritage celebrations: 1 – 4 p.m
Connect with our history, stories and artifacts with a self-guided tour through the local museum. Learn many facts and information about our Indigenous culture and the province of Alberta!
- Opening Indigenous prayer
- Birthday cake for the first 118 people
- Complimentary (free!) access to Nose Creek Valley Museum
Old fashioned picnic: 2 – 5 p.m
Spread out a blanket and enjoy the popular pastime of picnicking. Bring a basket of culinary delights and play a few nostalgic games from decades of the past.
- Picnic games – Tug of War, Sack Races, Horseshoes, BINGO, Kick the Can, Egg Races and more!
- BYOB (bring your own basket)
- Fire pit (bring hot dogs and smores)
- Fishing pond (free fishing under 16 years old)
- Ol’ Candy Shoppe concession
Outdoor Movie Night Double feature: 6 – 10 p.m
Grab a spot to experience the tradition of an outdoor movie with family and friends.
- Double feature at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. (stay tuned for the movie names)
- BYOB (bring your own blankets – chairs, etc.)
