Join us in celebrating the excitement of Groundhog Day as the Balzac community gathers for the 22nd Annual Groundhog Day Breakfast on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Watch as Balzac Billy emerges from hibernation to predict whether spring will come early or not. Following last year’s tremendous success and turnout, we are excited to announce that the breakfast will once again take place at Blue Grass Nursery & Garden Centre, located just south of CrossIron Mills.

Last year, Balzac Billy emerged from his burrow and saw his shadow, signaling a longer winter. This year, we eagerly await his prediction to find out if spring will arrive early. Regardless of the outcome, the Groundhog Day Breakfast promises to be a delightful event featuring a scrumptious breakfast and an opportunity to meet Balzac Billy in person!

This cherished annual event draws hundreds of attendees from Balzac, Calgary, Airdrie, and the surrounding communities. Everyone is invited to join us from 7 AM to 9 AM on Sunday, February 2, 2025, to hear Balzac Billy’s forecast and enjoy a fun-filled morning of food and community spirit.
