As the frost begins to fade and the first hints of spring arrive in Airdrie, the city’s favourite seasonal tradition is returning to Genesis Place. On April 18 to 19 from 10 am to 4 pm, the Airdrie Regional Home & Lifestyle Show will transform the twin arenas into a bustling hub of commerce, creativity, and community spirit.
According to Marilyne Aalhus, executive director of the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce, this year’s event isn’t just a trade show — it’s a celebration.
“It’s shaping up to be one of our biggest and most exciting yet,” says Aalhus. “It’s a vibrant, high-energy weekend where thousands of people come together to shop, explore, and connect with local businesses and non-profits.”
With close to 200 exhibitors participating, the 2026 show serves as a comprehensive one-stop shop. Whether you are looking to embark on a major home renovation, update your spring wardrobe, discover new local food vendors, or learn about essential family services, the diversity of the participants ensures there is something for everyone under one roof.
Aalhus says, the Chamber is striving to create an immersive environment for this year’s event.
“We’re bringing an even more interactive and fun experience for attendees this year,” she adds.
“We’re focusing on creating an atmosphere where people don’t just walk through; they stay, play, engage, and connect.”
Central to this new philosophy is the refreshed Fun Zone, a family-friendly destination packed with activities designed to keep all ages entertained throughout the day. While long-time attendees will be happy to see the return of favourites like the Money Tunnel and Name That Price, the 2026 lineup introduces a host of new attractions.
Children (and the young at heart) can enjoy glitter tattoos, balloon art, a special princess visit, and even meet Allen the Alpaca. For those seeking a bit of adrenaline, the show will feature live rollerblading demos and the debut of the Battle of the Mascots, where Airdrie’s most beloved characters will face off in a series of friendly competitions.
Beyond the entertainment, the show remains a vital platform for the local economy. It offers a unique opportunity for residents to meet the makers and service providers behind their favourite local brands. From browsing unique products to sampling local delicacies and collecting giveaways, the event emphasizes the importance of supporting the region’s entrepreneurial spirit.
“You’ll likely run into friends, meet new people, and leave with lots of great ideas,” says Aalhus.
“It truly captures that small-town feel Airdrie is known for, just on a much bigger, more exciting scale.”
For those planning to attend, it pays to arrive early. The first 250 attendees through the doors each day will receive exclusive swag bags filled with fun surprises.
Whether you are looking for home inspiration or simply a fun weekend outing with the family, the Airdrie Regional Home & Lifestyle Show is the place to be this April. Learn more at airdriechamber.ab.ca.
