Taste of Nations: A Celebration of Culture in Airdrie

Story by Josie Randall

Winter 2024/25

Airdrie is set to come alive with vibrant colors, flavors and rhythms as the inaugural Taste of Nations event takes center stage at the Town and Country Centre on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Organized by Welcoming Airdrie in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), this free, family-friendly event promises a celebration of the city’s growing cultural diversity.

With traditional dances, global cuisine, and interactive cultural displays, Taste of Nations invites residents to explore the beauty and traditions of communities worldwide.

“This event is a chance for Airdrie to come together and enjoy the wonders of different cultures,” says organizer Fleeha Ahmad.

“Through food, music, and art, we want to show that every culture has unique value and beauty.”

The event also aims to foster unity and promote a deeper understanding of the diverse backgrounds that make up Airdrie’s population.

“I want people to have fun and learn, leaving with a greater appreciation for the diversity in our city.”

Attendees can look forward to exploring cultural displays featuring traditional art and stories, savoring authentic global cuisine, and enjoying live music, dances and storytelling that celebrate Airdrie’s diversity.

Taste of Nations is part of the Healthier Together Airdrie (HTA) initiative, which focuses on building social connections and improving access to community activities.
