1. What has this first year with a new council taught you.
I guess it has taught me to accept and work with change. This new Council is a whole new dynamic and I think they have all caught on to the roll very well, and as a Council we are working good together.
2. What has been your biggest success this year.
I think our biggest success this past year has being able to move forward with the construction of the SW rec centre all in one phase, it will come with some challenges but with the advice and recommendations of the very talented Administration Team we have I know we can make it work. On a more personal success I look back at the last five terms of being on City Council and all the Advocacy that I as well as previous Councils worked on with the Provincial Government for health care in our City, and with the recent announcement of the new Covenant Health Centre that has been very rewarding.
3. What do you feel your biggest challenge in the next year.
With the continued growth in Airdrie and the SW Rec Centre build in one phase as well as the new Health Centre I think our biggest challenge is going to be managing the upcoming budgets for the next few years. We will be faced with many hard decisions all while maintaining current service levels and keeping any tax increases to manageable levels.
