June is officially Pride Month in Airdrie, and the community is coming together to celebrate connection, authenticity, and the vibrant diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Airdrie and the surrounding areas. Hosted by the Airdrie Pride Society, the 2026 lineup of events offers meaningful opportunities to gather, celebrate and uplift one another throughout the month.

The highlight of the month is the 2026 Pride Festival, taking place on June 20 at Nose Creek Regional Park under this year’s theme, “Together We Shine.” The day begins with a powerful Solidarity Walk, starting at 10:30 a.m. at Airdrie City Hall. Pride, at its core, is resistance, and this walk is an opportunity for the community to come together in unity, standing against those who seek to silence, diminish or divide us. The walk signifies inclusion and collective strength, beginning with a ceremonial opening and speeches before participants head to the festival grounds for the official festival opening.

From there, the celebration continues with live entertainment, local vendors and food trucks, showcasing Airdrie’s community spirit at its brightest.

Earlier in the month, on June 6, youth in grades 9–12 are invited to an unforgettable evening at BGC Airdrie Club for the 5th Annual Airdrie Queer Prom, with this year’s theme, “Enchantment Under the Sea.” This free event creates a magical, affirming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth to celebrate exactly as they are. With a live DJ, photobooth and a thoughtfully designed quiet room for those needing a sensory break, the prom balances high-energy fun with comfort and care. Attendees can enjoy food, music and meaningful connection in a space centered on joy, friendship and unapologetic self-expression.

To round out the month, the Community Coffee gathering on June 28 at Ground Press Coffee & Books offers a relaxed and welcoming space to connect with your community. Open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and allies, this event is about simple, but meaningful moments — conversation, community and shared understanding.
