Two connected communities nestled in southwest Airdrie, with an eye-pleasing canal network and pathways along the water, continues to be a popular choice for homebuyers.
The Bayside and Bayview communities by Genesis offer a variety of home styles, including laned homes, front-attached garage homes, and street townhomes with attached rear garages and no condo fees, says Mike deBoer, vice-president of homebuilding with Genesis Builders Group.
“There’s something for everyone. We’ve got a pretty broad market and lots of diversity, in terms of family sizes and life stages,” says deBoer. “We’ve just newly acquired some lots that back onto the canals, as well, which are really sought after because there’s not many more of those left.”
Home prices start in the high $400,000s to low $500,000s, with some of the lots backing onto the canals exceeding $1 million.
With four kids and a passion for the community after moving to Airdrie from Calgary six years ago, deBoer not only works for Genesis, but also lives in a Genesis home in Bayside.
“It’s been such a fantastic move for me and my family,” he says. “I’m so happy with the quality of life. What you’re able to get from a community and from a home in Airdrie, for your dollar, is really incredible.”
The Bayside and Bayview communities boast several parks, tennis courts, outdoor fitness equipment and a pump track. deBoer says community members stay connected through neighbourhood barbecues and block parties.
“Being a part of the neighbourhood is wonderful. I find the canal system and pathways really bring everyone together,” deBoer says. “The pathways follow along the canals, but also continue throughout the communities.”
Bayside is already home to an elementary school, and a second school is planned for the community, as well. An established business complex with a variety of businesses, including restaurants and convenience stores, is within walking distance of both communities.
Genesis is continuing to build in Bayside and Bayview, with a third Airdrie community coming soon, says deBoer.
