1. Share one specific personal or professional accomplishment that you believe qualifies you to represent Airdrie residents on Airdrie City Council.
I believe my indomitable work ethic, which I have developed over the years, will be a huge asset to Airdrie City Council. I worked up through the ranks at Eaton for 26.5 years to become and end my career as a production manager (with 22 years of effective leadership through that process); I re-educated as a primary care paramedic 17 years ago, became a firefighter, and worked that part time for over 16 years to present; and have written and published five novels, one self-help, and three inspirational books; all while being a husband and raising a family of four here in Airdrie.
2. What are your top three priorities and why?
Supporting and expanding the business sector to help with increased revenue streams to the city in order to mitigate some of the residential tax burden and help fund infrastructure.
Build infrastructure: emergency and health services, roads, parks and paths, public transportation rec centres, and such with a view to the Airdrie of 100,000 people and beyond in a fiscally responsible way.
Support and help develop the arts and culture within our amazing city because there are so many creatives in Airdrie, and we need to lift them up and showcase the awesome skill that exists here. They enrich us by the work they do.
