Mark your calendar and bring your appetite — the Empty Bowls Festival returns Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and it’s one of Airdrie’s most heartwarming events of the year! Hosted by the Airdrie Food Bank, this festival blends community spirit, creativity and compassion into one fun-filled day.
Come enjoy a delicious bowl of soup generously donated by local restaurants, explore bowl sales featuring handmade pottery, and take in the sights and sounds of a festival full of family-friendly fun. With live music, kids’ activities and local vendors, there’s something for everyone — from toddlers to grandparents.
Local artists, students and community members create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pottery bowls that are available for purchase during the event. Each bowl is a work of art, and buying one is a meaningful way to support those experiencing food insecurity in our community. While soup is included with your admission, bowls are sold separately, and proceeds from all bowl sales go directly to the Airdrie Food Bank.
Empty Bowls isn’t just about food — it’s about filling hearts and homes. Each bowl symbolizes the many “empty bowls” in our community and serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting our neighbours in need. Funds raised help the Airdrie Food Bank continue to provide food and essential services to local families.
