This weekend we will be featuring a very special guest for our Saturday Session… Corbie Dorner! (@corbdorner)

Corbie Dorner has been entertaining people with his music for over 30 years. He has been moonlighting for the past 7 years as the Music Program Director and Teacher at Bert Church High School here in Airdrie. He has studied jazz piano at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta and St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Between studying he has toured with various acts, performing across Canada from Vancouver, British Columbia to Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2015 Corbie had the opportunity to travel down south to Memphis, Tennessee with The Mike Clark Band and compete in the International Blues challenge, right on Beale Street! Corbie also won the Keyboard Player Of The Year from the Calgary Blues Music Association that same year and earned a spot performing in the Calgary International Blues Festival that August with an all-star band of some of the other musician category winners.

He is the Piano Director at Aussie Rules Piano Bar and has been a regular performer there for over 10 years. Corbie lives to entertain the crowds. “If the audience has a great time, then I have a great time.” One of his superpowers is his ability to play and sing ANYTHING he hears!
