The COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on her business as a makeup artist and esthetician, like many other businesses, but Nijjar did not give up hope.

Of her 26 years living in Airdrie she has been on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Boys and Girls Club Board, and Airdrie District Hospice Society Board.
