Volleyball may start with learning how to serve, tip and rally, but, for the hundreds of girls stepping into Airdrie gyms each week, the game quickly becomes about much more than points on a scoreboard.

When Reese Ochitwa discovered her high school robotics class had been cut due to staffing shortages, she didn’t just accept the loss — she turned it into inspiration. Ochitwa launched Bert Church High School’s first coding club in fall 2024.

Nose Creek Elementary School exudes warmth with a giant "Welcome" greeting visitors. The school, located in Airdrie, is experiencing rapid growth, serving 660 students with more than 35 home languages. Amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, the school sought to foster community and connection.
