The Crossfield and Airdrie Chambers of Commerce are proud to host the upcoming 2023 Rural Women in Business conference, presented by ATB Financial, on June 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Crossfield Community Hall.
The Rural Women in Business Conference was originally created in 2017 by the Crossfield Chamber of Commerce for entrepreneurial women who are passionate about developing and growing vibrant, sustainable businesses and has a proven track record of bringing women together to provide them with the tools, strategies and connections for their evolving businesses and lives.
This year’s theme is Energize!, with the conference format featuring six informative workshop options from business experts, including sessions on developing a healthy work/life balance, retirement planning, business finance, business planning, marketing and community involvement. There’s also panel discussions, exhibitor tables and networking opportunities galore.
Jessica Janzen, author of Bring the Joy will deliver a dynamic and inspiring keynote presentation, sharing some of her own experiences – from the bliss of her dramatic, romantic saga with her now husband, to the trials and triumph of her career journey as a young woman, to the devastating loss of her son when he was only six months old.
A mother of three children (“two earth-side, one up in heaven”), Janzen encourages people to find joy, even in difficult circumstances.
“I’ve learned that you can be mad and that’s okay,” she says on her website. “You can healthily channel that energy into rocket fuel to continue to create change.”
Hers is truly an inspiring message that many people need to hear and can draw comfort from in these challenging times – whether you’re in business for yourself or not.
Registration deadline is Thursday, June 8 at noon and cost is $110 for Chamber members and $130 for non members. For more information, visit airdriechamber.ab.ca/events.
