Crafting creations with coffee

Nine local artists are taking their art on the road to display in a gallery setting at the Badlands Community Facility in Drumheller for three months.

Airdrie currently has four weekly open mikes: Sorso Lounge, Legends Lounge at Smitty’s, Fitzsimmons Brewing Company, and Main Street Beer and BBQ. Each offers a space with a live microphone for musicians, poets or comedians.

Kim Wuirch is struggling to find her way around the Keurig machine. “I think it goes in here,” she says, as she flips the green tea pod this way and that, finally stuffing it into the right spot with a triumphant grin. So what is this corporate warrior doing at a spiritual event centre in Airdrie?
