Who we are
airdrielife first published in September 2004 and since then we’ve grown with the city of Airdrie. Today every issue of airdrielife is a polished publication reflecting on the energy, style and community spirit of Airdrie. We publish 4x a year and print 31,000 copies each time reaching every household in Airdrie, Crossfield and surrounding rural homes and businesses. In addition airdrielife is available in more than 30 Airdrie showhomes and 80+ rack locations around the city. Our reach extends past Airdrie with 100 rack locations in Calgary and an exclusive distribution at CrossIron Mills.
One of the most important mandates of airdrielife is to be actively involved in the community, after all we wouldn’t exist without this great city! We are proud to have created the Amazing Airdrie Women Awards now entering its 7th year. airdrielife has donated more than $75,000 in advertising space as a media sponsor of local events such as the ARTember, Airdrie Mayor’s Night of the Arts, Empty Bowls, Airdrie Pro Rodeo and the Airdrie Festival of Lights as well as numerous local charities.

Sherry has an extensive background in communications. From promotional materials to event management, Sherry has “done it all”. She enjoyed a successful freelance career for ten years before discovering in 2004 she was meant to be a magazine publisher.
In fourteen years, Sherry has amassed several awards and accolades on behalf of the magazine including:
- Airdrie Business Leader of the Year 2014 (Airdrie Business Awards)
- Winning Edge Business of the Year Finalist 2011
- Alberta Magazines Publisher of the Year Finalist 2011
- Winning Edge Family Friendly Business Award 2010
- Small Business of Distinction Award of Excellence Finalist 2009 (Alberta Chambers of Commerce)
- Airdrie Ambassador Award 2008 (Volunteer Airdrie)
One of Sherry’s proudest accomplishments with airdrielife is the creation of the Amazing Airdrie Women Awards, which, since 2011, has celebrated the stories of more than 130 amazing women in the community. The awards are celebrating each May with a sold-out luncheon.
In 2010 Sherry founded the Creative Airdrie Society and was instrumental in bringing three major public art projects to life in Airdrie. She also founded the AIRdirondack Art Project and Gala, and was the visionary and co-chair behind Airdrie’s first arts festival – ARTember, established in 2011. Sherry was chosen by the Airdrie Echo as the most influential person of 2011 for her efforts to promote arts and culture in the city of Airdrie. In 2012 Sherry received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Premier for her work in promoting the arts in Airdrie.
Sherry has her CAAP (Certified Advertising Agency Practitioner) from the Institute of Canadian Advertising and her diploma in Business Administration from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology).
