TO 4 P.M.\nNose Creek Regional Park\, 1691 Main St. S. \nThe Airdrie Time Travellers Club is celebrating its 25th anniversary with its annual show\, Doin’ it on the Grass\, set for Aug. 8.\nThe Time Travellers began as a small car club meeting every Friday at an A&W. Over time\, they evolved into a local non-profit and thriving community of car enthusiasts. The club has left a lasting impact on many through their charity work and strong sense of community. “Our big thing is you don’t even have to have a car. You just have to love cars\,” says club president Kaleigh Clow. What started as a small car meet has grown into one of Airdrie’s most recognized community events. The annual show\, Doin’ it on the Grass\, now draws thousands of people and has been held at Nose Creek Regional Park for the past 25 years. \nThe show features a wide range of vehicles\, from 1920s classics to the latest 2026 models. The owners\, each with their own stories\, are just as unique as the cars they bring. “Our club members are always willing to stop\, chat and hang out. It’s a great place to meet people and check out some cars\,” says Clow. Beyond the cars\, giving back has always been a key focus of the club. \nSince becoming an official non-profit organization in 2006\, the Time Travellers have supported local charities through their shows. “We go out to charity events to bring awareness\, and our club is very big on giving back to the community\,” says Clow. \nEach year\, the club supports four local charities. At last year’s show\, the Time Travellers raised enough money to donate $1\,700 to each organization. This year\, they will be sup porting the Airdrie Food Bank\, Boys and Girls Club\, Community Links\, and Iron Horse Park. \nTo celebrate 25 years of connection\, community and charitable work\, the Time Travellers are planning their biggest show yet\, featuring a live band\, a variety of food trucks and a wide range of vehicles. Visitors can explore the grounds and chat with club members throughout the day. \n“We try to make it as family friendly as possible so the whole family can come out and have fun. If you’re part of our Latin community\, come and feel at home.” \nThe Latins in Airdrie Society consists of seven board members with roots from Mexico\, Colombia\, El Salvador and Peru. As the event attracts large crowds\, residents are to plan ahead and consider walking\, biking or carpooling when possible. Free parking with shuttle service will be available from Muriel Clayton School\, A.E. Bowers School and Nose Creek Regional Park. There will also be a shuttle pick up/drop off location at Braces+ (across from Safeway at Tower Lane Mall).
