As a small start with a big heart, Switchback Creative has arrived. Suzy and Trevor Rounce created this small graphic design and web design marketing company that has big plans. Their unique position centres around creating a following of loyal customers for businesses. This reaches outside the bounds of what a typical web design or print design company does.
Based out of Airdrie, and servicing primarily surrounding Calgary communities such as Airdrie, Cochrane, Canmore and Okotoks, this small marketing company has big plans and the heart to propel them to success. Co-owner and Creative Director, Suzy Rounce said, “It’s been a life long dream to start this company and it was time to take the leap. After living in Airdrie for a few years, we realized it was the perfect base to branch out from. It’s a warm community with tons of opportunity.”
Switchback Creative wants to raise the expectations and understanding of what a marketing design company can do in a smaller city or town. They have seen that the leaders that are the most steadfast and passionate about their businesses are determined to invest in how they can make the company better and as a result, bigger.
“We have a vision for Airdrie that includes more quality, one-of-a-kind local shops, eating, and service based businesses all packaged in a sophisticated and concise way. We want them to thrive and we feel we have the ideas and strategies that will take them to the next level.”
The new airdrielife website is the perfect example of this. Switchback is responsible for dreaming up the concept and doing the design and web development to bring Sherry Shaw-Froggatt of Frog Media’s vision to improve an already very cool website hub for Airdronians.
“Sometimes people underestimate how important it is to explore how your company makes your customer feel, the emotional connection they have to your brand.” Suzy goes on to explain that people that live in smaller communities seem to have higher expectations on service because there is no where to hide. “That’s a good thing”, she says and now the ‘packaging’ and marketing strategies behind that service can be brought to life through Switchback’s process and work.
Suzy and Trevor cite Creative Airdrie, who they have worked with, as a shining example of a local business society that embraces the belief in going the extra mile and truly connecting with the people they serve. “They have worked passionately in the Airdrie arts community to make it a recognized arts and culture hub. And it’s paying off for them. They have been awarded the Alberta Culture Days Feature Celebration Site Grant for the second time in four years.”
Similarly, and with equal verve, Switchback Creative wants to bring to life the vision of other company leaders and owners that are fiercely passionate about what they do for their customers.
