2016 Finalists Announced

For the Pharmasave airdrielife Amazing Airdrie Women Awards

April 4, 2016

airdrielife magazine is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2016 Pharmasave airdrielife Amazing Airdrie Women Awards.

A total of 37 women were nominated and finalists were selected based on a 50/50 split of public online voting and votes cast by the event sponsors, past recipients and editorial team of airdrielife.

“The categories were exceptionally difficult to judge this year, according to our previous recipients and sponsors, and we couldn’t agree more,” says airdrielife publisher Sherry Shaw-Froggatt. “There was a lot of reader excitement too and we are happy to report that we had more than 3700 votes!”

The finalists are teachers, moms, civic employees, fitness instructors, students, business women, volunteers and survivors. An exceptional cross section of the community.

The finalists are in alphabetical order:

McKee Homes Amazing Leadership: Leona Esau, Charity Hutchinson and Michelle Wagner.

Pharmasave Amazing Heart: Michelle Bates, Linsey Jay and Gayla Worden

Hassett & Reid Amazing Determination: Tyler Baptist, Lori Connolly, Kiera Gosse and Sylvia Schultz.

Pureform Amazing Courage (The Tracy Work Memorial Award): Teresa Phillips, Christina Sackett Toews and Danielle Toovey.

Airdrie Women in Business Amazing Promise: Abigail Kube, Miranda Schmidt and Madison Warne

Recipients will receive a custom designed necklace by Airdrie designer Christine Taylor of Hoodoo Designs.

The recipient in each category will be announced May 6 at the 6th Annual Amazing Airdrie Women Luncheon hosted by BMO Kingsview Market. The gourmet luncheon at The Woods sells out every year, and features a champagne reception and a hilarious live improv show featuring an all female cast from Sour Dog Theatre. $5 from the sale of each ticket goes to support the Airdrie Relay for Life.

We have some great door prizes and swag bags for everyone too. It’s a very emotional day, we laugh, we cry, but a very gratifying one for everyone involved,” says Shaw-Froggatt. “And the event is not limited to women – we always get great support from the men in the community and they are very welcome to join us.”

Tickets are available online only through the Woodside Golf Course at woodsidegc.com/store/amazing-airdrie-women-luncheon
